  • “There were conflicts of interest between what was good for the public and what was good for Facebook, and Facebook, over and over again, chose to optimize for its own interests, like making more money,” Haugen told Scott Pelley on 60 Minutes Sunday. “Facebook has realized that if they change the algorithm to be safer, people will spend less time on the site, they’ll click on less ads, they’ll make less money.”

    all of social media pushes antagonistic items ….but facebook goes above and beyond. to me it suggests things i have time and time again marked as of no interest.
    $7 billion ias a reasonable fine.

  • Facebook is clearly toxic for a group of it’s users, I hope this leads to some practical guidance or rules for these massive monopolies.
